Your Questions, Answered

Is this just playing with toys?

Not at all. LEGO® Serious Play® is a proven facilitation method based on decades of research in psychology and systems thinking. It’s used by Fortune 500s and innovative startups worldwide to solve complex challenges.

Do we need to be 'creative' to participate?

No. Our certified facilitator guides you through every step. The method is designed to unlock insights from everyone, regardless of their creative confidence or experience with LEGO® bricks.

Do we need to prepare or have experience?

No prior experience or preparation required. Our certified facilitator guides you through every step, from warm-up exercises to complex challenge modeling. The method is designed to work for everyone, regardless of building experience or creative confidence.

How many people can participate?

Sessions work from intimate leadership teams (4-6 people) up to large group workshops (20+ participants). We tailor the format to your specific group size and objectives, ensuring everyone can participate meaningfully.

Do we get to keep the LEGO® bricks and models?

Your team always receives comprehensive digital documentation capturing your models and the strategic insights behind them. For the physical bricks, it depends on your session: shorter workshops use compact LSP kits that teams normally keep as a reminder. Larger team-building sessions require more extensive brick collections, which you can purchase if you want to keep the models or continue building together back at the office. Either way, the real value lives in the shared understanding you've created.

How long does a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® session take?

Sessions typically range from 3 hours for focused team alignment to full-day workshops for complex strategic challenges. We design the timing around your specific objectives and group size. Many teams find half-day sessions (4 hours) hit the sweet spot for meaningful outcomes without workshop fatigue.

What if my team is skeptical about using toys for serious business?

This is completely normal. Some of our most successful sessions started with skeptical participants. The method quickly shifts from "playing with toys" to serious strategic thinking. Within the first 20 minutes, even the most hesitant team members are fully engaged because they see their ideas taking shape in ways words alone couldn't capture.

Can we use this for sensitive topics or difficult conversations?

Absolutely. LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® actually excels at navigating sensitive issues because the models create psychological safety. People often share perspectives through their builds that they might never voice directly. The method helps depersonalize criticism and focus on the challenge, not the person.

How is this different from other team building or strategic planning methods?

Unlike traditional workshops that rely on discussion and whiteboards, LSP engages both hands and mind simultaneously, leading to deeper insights. Every person builds their own model first, ensuring all voices are heard before group discussion. The physical, 3D nature makes abstract concepts concrete and memorable, creating alignment that lasts long after the session ends.

What are the tangible outcomes?

You'll walk away with visual documentation of your models, clear action items, and most importantly, genuine alignment. Teams often refer back to their workshop models for months as a guidepost for decisions.
